A few tips to help us minimise our risk of getting the crono-virus. Not a guarantee.

I wrote this just in case the situation keeps going for a long time. Best to be safe as we can long term.

First don't feel pressured to work. You're don't have to. If you don't want to - just tell me and we'll make arrangements.

If you would like to keep working for the time being, here are some tips in order of importance.

Social distancing:

  • This is the most important factor in avoiding getting sick.

  • On jobs, stay at least 1.5 meters - but preferably 2 + meters - away from others.

  • If there is some one at the job that looks sick, leave immediately. No questions asked.

  • Don't go in big crowds for any reason.

  • Avoid physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses

  • On jobs, try not to touch / move anything as much as possible. In fact, I've told clients we won't be moving things for the time being.

  • If you absolutely have to touch something, use gloves - more info below.

Hygene:

  • Never touch face, mouth, eyes or nose, unless it's immediately after you've washed your hands.

  • Wash your hands multiple times a day.

  • Method: wash for 30 seconds under warm water with soap. Scrubbing everything firmly.

  • Here's when you should wash your hand:

  • Before putting on mask / gloves

  • After taking off mask / gloves

  • Before, during and after you prepare food

  • Before eating

Use a mask:

I have a bunch of these I bought for you. Just let me know when you'd like to drop by and pick on up. There's no guarantee with these either but they should help if used correctly. Rating on the masks is P2. These are multi-use also.

How to use them:

  • Shave facial hair.

  • Wash hand before applying mask.

  • (Then wash your hands after applying it also.)

  • Apply it.

  • Make sure you get a good seal all around by adjusting it and adjusting nose piece.

  • Once you have a good seal it will make breathing more difficult as all air passing through the filter. That's how you know you did it well.

  • Don't touch face under the mask. Don't remove it frequently.

  • Removing mask:

  • Wash your hands before removing the mask. That way you don't contaminate the mask as you take it off.

  • Please mask somewhere out of the way so you don't come into contact with it again until you need it, but also somewhere safe so the mask doesn't get damaged.

  • Immediately after you take off mask, wash your hands again.

Masks are not 100% protective - so don't get over confident because you have it.

Use gloves:

I have these as well. Come grab them off me. They are multi use also.

  • Wash hands before using multi use gloves.

  • Don't touch your face, eyes, nose, mouth with gloves.

  • When taking off glove - remove them without touching the outside with bare hands.

  • Please gloves somewhere out of the way so you don't come into contact with it again until you need it.

  • Then wash hands again.

If you're using gloves and a mask, you'd take off gloves as per instructions above first. Then remove mask with the instructions provided.

Other tools that help:

  • Glasses / safety glasses / goggle. Will stop virus particles from landing in your eye.

  • Wash hands before and after putting on / taking off glasses.

If you're using glasses, gloves, and mask. Remove gloves first, then mask, then glasses, following all instructions given.

Thanks for working with me to keep everyone safe!

Any questions please let me know.
